Who We Are

Distinct Technical Service (DTS) is a technology retail company registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We operate the website at distincttechnicalservices.com and associated mobile applications. We sell laptops, smartphones, accessories, and gaming products to customers across Nigeria.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, DTS is the Data Controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about how we handle your information, our contact details are in Section 12.

This policy applies to all visitors, customers, and users of DTS products and services, including those who interact with us via WhatsApp, phone, or in-store at our Victoria Island location.

We never store full payment card numbers. All payment processing is handled by our PCI-DSS compliant payment partners. DTS only receives a transaction reference and masked card details.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our measures include:

SSL/TLS encryption on all pages and data transmissions between your browser and our servers.
Password hashing — account passwords are stored as irreversible bcrypt hashes. Not even our staff can read your password.
Access controls — staff access to customer data is role-based and strictly limited to what each role requires.
Regular security audits and vulnerability scans of our web infrastructure.
PCI-DSS compliant payment partners for all card and bank transfer processing.
Data minimisation — we collect only what is necessary and delete it when no longer needed.
Despite our best efforts, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us at security@dts.ng.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by Nigerian law.

When the retention period expires, your data is securely deleted or anonymised so it can no longer be linked back to you.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@dts.ng. We will respond within 7 business days. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request. There is no charge for making a request.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us immediately at privacy@dts.ng and we will delete the data promptly.

Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, and payment gateways. These sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit via a link from our platform.

Links to external sites do not constitute our endorsement of those sites or their content.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

Update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.
Send an email notification to all registered customers if the change is significant.
Display a prominent notice on our website for at least 14 days after the change.

Your continued use of DTS services after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using our services and request data deletion.
